John Wallace

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting, ACA qualified, and a member of the ICAEW since 1993. 

Experience and expertise

John’s background in general practice gives him wide-reaching experience, predominantly with owner-managed businesses across a range of industries in Yorkshire and the north of England 

He’s also highly knowledgeable in acting for charities, smaller pensions, CASS-regulated entities, solicitors and housing associations. 

John trained with an independent practice in Leeds, qualifying in 1993 as an ACA and progressing to Senior Audit and Accounts Manager before joining Thomas Coombs in May 2024.  

John has also acted as Head of Business Services and as Head of Audit in previous roles and has a broad skillset to bring to our clients.  

He believes that the most vital aspect of his role is to provide objective, actionable advice and assistance across all business areas, as well as troubleshooting problems and finding solutions.  

John has always enjoyed the variety that comes with working in general practice, which he says stimulates him mentally and is always engaging. 

Interests outside of work

Outside of work John has two young daughters who keep him busy, particularly with playgrounds, scootering and parties.  

He’s also a keen runner, having completed several marathons, as well as being a proud supporter of Leeds Tykes Rugby Union team.
